They locked eyes: The year was 2009 - A mutual friend, Jay Isolini invited Ryan to a back deck party at Keri Lynch's house. Ryan claims that upon first meeting Katie, he was taken aback by her beauty and "had to have her." Katie's parents claimed that they saw the look in Ryan's eyes and knew he "only had eyes for Katie." Katie was completely oblivious. The "friends zone": In the summer of 2010, Katie had just graduated from college and was back living in Yorktown. Ryan attended every Lynch gathering he could to keep his presence known. Although they had partied a lot, not much progress was being made. It was time to get cordial. The first date: Afraid that if he didn't act soon, he would stay in the "friends zone," Ryan finally asked Katie to go on an official date during the summer of 2011. Katie happily agreed, and the two went to see a movie at the Cortlandt Town Center. They started dating within a month, and the rest is history. Sealed the deal: Two things became very obvious after seven years of dating. (1) Katie and Ryan were very much in love, and (2) Katie and Ryan loved Cape Cod, so it was no surprise when Ryan proposed on September 29, 2017, at the Nobska Lighthouse, down a path overlooking the ocean. When the newly engaged couple returned to the top of the path by the lighthouse, they were greeted by their families to celebrate the moment when "she said YES!
