Surprise Proposal at The Beach Plum Inn

This beautiful couple was an inspiration on so many levels. Samantha and Ben met while dancing at a friend's wedding.  They danced with open hearts and found cherished love in the two years since that night. Ben told me that from the beginning they both knew deep down that what they found together was special.

They love to travel, laugh, dance, and explore delicious food and wine.  The most special trip that they have taken together was to Barcelona, Florence, and Venice for their one year anniversary. In Florence, they purchased a bottle of wine that they said one day would be their "engagement bottle".   Ben planned on bringing the bottle with him and presenting it to Samantha as a surprise before the proposal.

Martha's Vineyard is a very special place in their hearts. Samantha grew up spending summer weekends here, but  Ben has only just started to become acquainted with the Vineyard visiting with her. The experiences of Samantha showing this deeply appreciated place to Ben has made the Vineyard feel like a special place that they share together.

When I received a phone call from Ben about a surprise proposal his voice was full of enthusiasm, love, and pure excitement. Ben had a number of ideas for location but the final decision was for the Beach Plum Inn Restaurant with a follow-up session on Aquinnah Beach.   The date and time were set, but the weather didn't want to cooperate with us.  As the week went on the weather forecast grew worse, and it was supposed to rain all day. Luckily the sky cleared up just in time which created great lighting for capturing these moments.  There are so many beautiful spots around the Beach Plum Inn Restaurant and the view from inside and out is spectacular.

When we reached the Aquinnah Beach and took a walk the photo shoot turned into a live scene from the most romantic of movies.  The sounds of wind, ocean, and the love in their souls just fills these photographs with delight. This was just one of those moments when I felt honored and thankful to be there. It is so rewarding to help capture such wonderful, soul-touching moments of love and help pass these memories on to their family, friends, and generations to come.

I wish you two lovebirds an ocean of love!
